Paul: Movie Review

Paul
Paul is about two sci-fi geeks whose pilgrimage takes them to America's UFO heartland. While there, they accidentally meet an alien who brings them on an insane road trip that alters their universe forever. For the past 60 years, an alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) has been hanging out at a top-secret military base. When he discovers he's been taken prisoner, the space-traveling genius decides to escape the compound and hop on the first vehicle out of town-a rented RV containing Earthlings Graeme Willy and Clive Gollings. Chased by federal agents and the fanatical father of a young woman that they accidentally kidnap, Graeme and Clive hatch a fumbling escape plan to return Paul to his mother ship. And as two nerds struggle to help, one little green man might just take his fellow outcasts from misfits to intergalactic heroes.

Even though this is film very Sci-Fi oriented, it is still a very entertaining movie no matter what genre of film you enjoy watching. Seth Rogen is the perfect voice for the part of Paul, the alien. Paul is not your average extra terrestrial. He is a complete smart ass with every word or action that comes out of his mouth, which makes him unique and fun to watch. The film starts out slow, establishing the main characters and their personalities before you actually get into the plot of the movie. It was given a 7.4 out of 10 in Imdb, which is about the same rating I'd give the film. The plot is a little weak and overrated from my opinion, but it still a great movie to watch.

Along with Kevin's loyal confidant, father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous

Tron: Legacy is definitely a must for anyone who is interested in an action packed, Sci-Fi film. The story line is quite easy to understand and keeps you off of your seat throughout the entire movie. The use of technology in the costume design is amazing as well. To the viewer, one would assume that the suits did not actually glow while they are filming and that they put the glow in with an editing software, but that is not the case. The costume designers created a way to make these suits that contain light strips within them that have the flexibility and durability to withstand the various stunts that are pulled within the film. Not only were the costumes a plus, but the music score for the film was astounding as well. Most of the electronica was created by the group, Daft Punk (a well known DJ group whose genres consist of techno and electronica). With all of these significant pieces in the movie, it gives it that unique quality that every movie lover wants to see in theaters. IGN rated this film with a 7.1 out of 10, but I personally think this film deserves at least an 8.5 if not more. It all depends on what interests you in a film. This is definitely worth the watch.
